Matsu Kennel
Established in 1990
We are a single breed kennel guided by the same honor &
integrity that has made the tosa a national treasure in
Japan. Selective outcrossing of Japanese imports has
created Matsu’s line of solid tosa temperament with
genetically sound structure. Our breeding stock is tested
for temperament as well as structure screening (OFA,
elbows, and eyes). Four generations of OFA and five
generations of conformation champions defines our seriousness to promote and share the joy of Tosa ownership. All our dogs are FCI and UKC registered. Most of our dogs are certified therapy dogs. We provide health and temperament guarantees. Puppies for show and home companion/guardian. (Some co-ownerships available.) Occasionally we have older dogs available for foster homes. Stud service is available to approved bitches.
Genkichi Sudo
(Nov. 12, 1915 – Jan. 20, 1996)
Matsu would like to acknowledge Mr. Sudo for all he had done for tosas in Japan as well as the world. His legend and passion is carried on by his son, Teruaki Sudo and family, for whom we are very grateful. I cannot thank enough Yoko and Hiroki Takeda for all their help with tosas in North America. And a very special thanks to Yoshitake Tomose, Tokihiro Matsuzaki, and Kenji Fujita.
